Research Analyst – JLL
What this job involves:The Research Analyst will join JLL's San Francisco Research team to deliver market intelligence that sets JLL apart. You will analyze San Francisco's industrial, office, and flex markets alongside the economic drivers that shape them. This role combines direct client engagement with hands-on data analysis, positioning you at the intersection of urban economics and commercial real estate. You will grow from foundational market research into automated workflows, quantitative modeling, and independent analysis—building both analytical rigor and technical capability. What your day-to-day will look like:- Develop expertise on San Francisco's economy, industry composition, demographics, and commercial real estate market to identify trends and emerging opportunities
- Maintain comprehensive market coverage by tracking significant leasing activity, tenant movements, development projects, sales transactions, and ownership changes
- Meet regularly with clients and internal teams to present market insights, conditions, and forecasts
- Produce quarterly reports on San Francisco market performance using JLL's AI tools
- Validate and reconcile market data across multiple sources, resolving discrepancies and documenting methodologies
- Analyze data workflows and processes to identify gaps, improvement opportunities, and potential automation
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences through written communication and visual presentations
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications:- Exposure to programming languages and data systems (Python, SQL, or similar)
- Statistical or quantitative academic background
- Passion for data analysis, economic and real estate market dynamics, or urban planning and development
- Understanding of commercial real estate fundamentals and market cycles
- Experience working with large datasets or business intelligence platforms
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated with intellectual curiosity and eagerness to apply technical skills to real estate markets
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Perplexity
- Ability to perform data manipulation tasks

Expected compensation for this position:
83,000.00 – 92,000.00 USD per year
Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
