Full Job Description
Under the general direction of the Research Administration Manager and other Department leaders and in concert with other research administrative staff, bear primary responsibility for all phases of pre- and post-award administration for intra/extramurally funded research awards for Departmental Principal Investigators (PIs). The Research Administrator 2 is responsible for an assigned portfolio of extramural funds/contracts & grants for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The incumbent will serve as the research administrator for his/her assigned PIs assisting with both pre-award and post-award functions. Duties include but not limited to proposal submissions; grant/subaward/subcontract budget development; financial management and reporting; liaise with campus and funding agencies to provide information, budgets, and answer questions regarding proposals; act as department resource and liaison with OCGA to interpret policy, procedures, agency guidelines; and disseminate information and changes to department staff, faculty, and PIs. Typically works on complex proposals such as grants / contracts which require task budgets, option years, multiple investigators, and multiple sub awards. The individual will also provide financial management of gifts & endowment funds. In collaboration with the Manager, the incumbent will also collect data and generate quarterly research metrics reports.
