Full Job Description
Overview:

In this role, you will contribute to Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) activities, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) development, technical baseline integrity, and requirements analysis.

Responsibilities:
  • Support MBSE activities to develop, refine, and maintain system and subsystem technical baselines.
  • Develop, analyze, refine, and manage system and subsystem requirements, ensuring clarity, traceability, and verifiability.
  • Participate in requirements verification, including review of Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and other technical artifacts.
  • Work with government and contractor teams to identify and close requirement gaps using tools such as DOORS.
  • Lead or support technical working groups, including preparing materials, authoring meeting minutes, tracking action items, and facilitating collaborative problem solving.
  • Assess impacts to system technical baselines and identify integration considerations across space, ground, and operational stakeholders.
  • Review and capture comments on program documentation and collaborate with contractors on adjudication and technical updates.
  • Provide technical inputs and support development of briefings for USSF program leadership.
  • Support risk, issue, and dependency management, including identifying disconnects and recommending solutions.


Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in systems engineering or requirements management.
  • Experience with requirements specification, analysis, and verification.
  • Familiarity with requirements traceability tools such as DOORS.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or computer science.
  • INCOSE ASEP/CSEP/ESEP certification.
  • MBSE certification (OCSMP).
  • Experience with Agile development tools or methodologies.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with MILSATCOM systems such as AEHF, EPS, WGS, Tactical SATCOM, or COMSATCOM.
  • Background working with DoD or military customers.
  • Familiarity with space and ground communication systems, including terminals, satellite payloads, or DoD networks.


The pay range for this position in California is $165,000/year to $205,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract wages, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
