Job Summary:

Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division is seeking a Rental Power Technical Trainer to lead the development and delivery of technical training across the global dealer network. This role is critical to enabling rental power growth by building technical capability on both Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar solutions. The Technical Trainer serves as a subject matter expert, partnering with internal teams and external suppliers to design and implement training programs that support go-to-market execution, new product introduction (NPI), and dealer readiness.

What you will do: 

  • Develop and deliver technical training programs for dealer and internal teams focused on rental power applications, including generators, energy storage, hybrid systems, and supporting technologies.

  • Lead training strategy and execution for both Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar products, ensuring alignment with rental fleet growth and emerging solutions.

  • Partner with external suppliers and internal product teams to create and deploy training content tied to new product introductions and strategic initiatives.

  • Enable dealer sales and operations teams through applied training on product application, system integration, safety, and jobsite efficiency.

  • Support go-to-market efforts by providing technical expertise at key customer engagements, demos, and deployments.

  • Assess dealer capability and performance, identifying gaps and opportunities to improve utilization, application effectiveness, and customer outcomes.

  • Standardize and scale training delivery using modern learning tools, digital platforms, and repeatable playbooks.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Prior experience with Caterpillar generator sets.

  • Prior experience with developing and facilitating training modules.

Additional Information:

  • This position is located in Irving, TX or Peoria, IL.

  • Travel up to 50% is required.

  • Domestic relocation assistance is offered for this position.

  • This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $221,640.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
