Job Description

The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Health System invites qualified radiologists to join the expanding Emergency Overnight Team to provide overnight teleradiology coverage. Our emergency overnight radiologists provide final interpretation of all inpatient and ED examinations, comprised predominately of CT, US, X-ray, and some MRI exams. Our EDs, including level II trauma center in Eau Claire, WI, see all forms of acute and urgent clinical disease presentation. Additionally, MCHS has multiple accredited Stroke Centers.

Our overnight radiologists are a very collegial team with high job satisfaction. The standard night schedule is 7 days on and 14 days off. Overnight coverage will typically be 9 hour shifts Monday-Sunday (MN-WI/Central Time), in conjunction with an existing member of the Emergency Night team covering overlapping shifts. Vacation and non-clinical time such as trip time are taken from off-rotation periods. Qualified candidates may staff these shifts remotely in any of the continental United States.

The ideal candidate will have strong general radiology skills and fellowship level training ideally in neuroradiology or emergency Radiology, although other relevant fellowships will be considered. Interpretation of body, thoracic, and MSK exams is required. Experience and proficiency with typical ED/Inpatient Stat CT and MR neurological imaging is required of all hires.

The Mayo Clinic Health System Department of Radiology consists of nearly 80 radiologists, and ~500 allied health employees. The position provides opportunities for enriching Mayo Clinic Radiology committee representation, academic appointments, and interactions with exceptionally trained and collegial Radiology colleagues across the Midwest and the nation.

To promote engagement with the department and hospital and assist in advancement in the educational and research goals of the department, additional onsite weekday daytime coverage is included. This includes two Mon-Fri remote daytime weeks during business hours, and two on-site Mon-Fri work weeks partnered with one of our community hospital teams with a travel stipend provided.

As we work together to put the needs of the patient first, we are also dedicated to our employees, investing in an outstanding, comprehensive benefits package that includes plenty of options for medical, dental and vision care; flexible spending accounts; life insurance; short- and long-term disability coverage; travel allowance; generous time away; and more! We are proud to be among the few U.S. companies to provide a pension benefit at no cost to employees plus you can add the Mayo 403(b) plan which features an employer match.
