Overview

Kentro is hiring for a remote Business Analyst to support our Veterans Affairs ESOM contract. The Business Analyst supports transition activities for the CMDB and Change Control workstreams by gathering and documenting requirements, evaluating operational processes, and contributing to cost-benefit analysis under the direction of the Senior Business Analyst and Project Manager. This role works closely with both VA Infrastructure Operations (IO) stakeholders and Kentro delivery staff to ensure accurate documentation and traceability.

Location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours; occasional travel to VA sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, compile, and document business and technical requirements from VA IO stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Support cost-benefit assessments by collecting and organizing data from cost estimators and technical staff.
  • Analyze current-state IT processes related to SCM, CMDB, and Change Control; identify trends, errors, and data gaps.
  • Develop alternate data depictions and visualizations to highlight issues and support decision-making.
  • Produce clear, structured summary reports documenting findings, gaps, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Business Analyst, Process Analyst, and architects to maintain alignment across workstreams.
  • Assist with documentation of to-be process benefits in narrative, graphic, and oral formats as directed.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of of program analysis experience on federal IT contracts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent. An additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the education requirement for a total of 13+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to use source data to evaluate program and operational effectiveness.
  • Proficiency with qualitative and quantitative analytical methods; ability to synthesize findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong data manipulation skills using Microsoft Excel or similar tools; experience producing program status reports.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience on VA IT programs or within a Department of Veterans Affairs contract.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow reporting, dashboards, or SPM for program tracking purposes.
  • Experience supporting CMDB, ITSM, or Change Management transition efforts.
  • PMI or IIBA entry-level certification, or equivalent coursework.

  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance
