Job Summary

Caterpillar’s Remanufacturing Division is looking for a Business Development Manager. This position will be responsible for accelerating profitable growth by developing, commercializing, and scaling Cat Remanufacturing service solutions across Electric Power, Oil & Gas, Marine, Industrial & Rail, and On-Highway Truck segments.  The location for this position will be Houston or Dallas, TX.

What You Will Do:

The Business Development Manager leads the identification and commercialization governance of new product and lifecycle solution opportunities that accelerate Cat Reman Power & Energy STU growth. Serving as the single point of accountability from opportunity identification through go-to-market delivery and management, this role aligns cross-functional stakeholders and distribution partners to deliver lifecycle solutions, expand critical component offerings, and achieve the division’s STU growth commitments through 2030.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identifies customer trends and opportunities for the acceleration of current and future Cat Reman offerings to further services growth.
  • Governs and coordinates initiatives that promote and sell Cat Reman service offerings, aligning them with short- and long-term industry aftermarket sales strategies and establishing training for responsible team members where applicable.
  • Leads projects by collaborating with internal business partners to establish and recommend capabilities and processes for Cat dealers to align with Caterpillar’s strategy.
  • Supports demand planning, forecasting (including target setting), and S&OP processes for critical parts, engine programs, and new lifecycle solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops to drive alignment and support growth commitments including executive performance updates.

  • Develops and executes growth strategies aligned with customer segments, engine populations, and priority applications.
  • Evaluates market opportunities, customer demand, and competitive dynamics to drive business decisions.
  • Identifies and captures incremental revenue opportunities through lifecycle solutions, portfolio expansion, and strategic account development.

Effective Communication: Influences stakeholders through clear, compelling, and customer-focused communication.

  • Communicates the Cat Reman value proposition around sustainability, reliability, lifecycle value, and total cost of ownership.
  • Delivers executive-ready recommendations, presentations, and business cases to customers, dealers, and leadership teams.
  • Translates complex technical and commercial concepts into actionable business insights for diverse audiences.

Relationship Management: Builds trusted partnerships that drive collaboration and business results.

  • Develops strong relationships with customers, dealers, OEMs, and internal business partners.
  • Leads integrated account planning and strategic customer engagement activities across targeted industry segments.
  • Collaborates with Product Support, Engineering, Digital, Supply Chain, and Services teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.

Strategic Thinking: Applies long-term business perspective to identify growth opportunities and shape market direction.

  • Develops and aligns go-to-market and go-to-customer strategies that support enterprise growth objectives.
  • Identifies emerging market trends, customer applications, and new opportunities to expand Cat Reman participation.
  • Leads commercialization and market adoption efforts for new products, services, and lifecycle solutions.

Data Gathering & Analysis: Uses data and market insights to drive informed decisions and improve business performance.

  • Analyzes customer demand, market opportunities, and lost opportunity pools to identify growth actions.
  • Leverages analytics and digital tools to support commercial strategy, forecasting, and solution development.
  • Synthesizes information from multiple sources to develop recommendations and measure business impact.

Degree Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.

  • Proven aftermarket leader with 10+ years of experience in product support, services, parts operations, aftermarket growth, or technical roles, ideally within the Power & Energy industry.
  • Strategic growth driver with demonstrated success developing and executing go-to-market strategies, lifecycle service solutions, and customer-focused commercial frameworks that deliver profitable business growth.
  • Deep industry and customer expertise with a strong understanding of Power & Energy products, applications, dealer operations, customer segments, service systems, warranty, pricing strategy, and aftermarket value creation.
  • Collaborative enterprise influencer who can lead without authority and build alignment across dealers, inventory, finance, engineering, digital, product development, and global business partners to achieve shared outcomes.
  • Customer-first relationship builder with a track record of strengthening customer partnerships, improving customer experience, and identifying opportunities to create long-term value.
  • Skilled project and change leader experienced in managing complex, cross-functional initiatives, commercializing new products and services, and driving successful implementation through strong governance and execution.

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
