This position works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, contractor teams, and chemical service providers to troubleshoot, maintain, and improve the performance of production equipment and facility systems. The role focuses on reliability activities, both preventative and corrective, with an emphasis on identifying and eliminating repeat failures, supporting emissions reduction initiatives, improving equipment availability and performance, and providing field support for the asset's chemical management program. This includes partnering with operations personnel and chemical vendors to optimize chemical treatments, monitor field performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support safe, cost-effective execution of corrosion, scale, paraffin, and flow assurance programs. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, adaptable individual with a growth mindset who enjoys a dynamic, hands-on, field-based work environment. Preference will be given to candidates with upstream onshore oil and gas experience, and experience working closely with chemical service providers is highly desirable.

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations to determine root cause and eliminate repeat failures.

  • Perform field-wide flare monitoring and repair flare systems, as well as field-wide tank pressure monitoring and repair upset conditions to mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

  • Serve as the single point of accountability for defect identification, validation, and corrective action execution associated with the Permian LDAR program and supplemental survey mechanisms, including fixed-wing quantification flights and continuous monitoring.

  • Perform preventative maintenance activities through the work management system and provide detailed feedback on completed work and identified issues.

  • Perform corrective maintenance utilizing troubleshooting, analysis, problem solving, critical thinking, diagnostic, and reasoning skills.

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to evaluate surface equipment reliability and pursue predictive maintenance opportunities.

  • Identify and support implementation of new technologies that enhance facility availability, reliability, and operational capabilities.

  • Monitor equipment and systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance while maintaining facility integrity.

About BP

BP p.l.c. is a British multinational oil and gas company headquartered in London, England. It is one of the oil and gas "supermajors" and one of the world's largest companies measured by revenues and profits. It is a vertically integrated company operating in all areas of the oil and gas industry, including exploration and extraction, refining, distribution and marketing, power generation, and trading. BP's origins date back to the founding of the Anglo-Persian Oil Company in 1908, established as a subsidiary of Burmah Oil Company to exploit oil discoveries in Iran. In 1935, it became the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company and in 1954, adopted the name British Petroleum. In 1959, the company expanded beyond the Middle East to Alaska. British Petroleum acquired majority control of Standard Oil of Ohio in 1978. Formerly majority state-owned, the British government privatised the company in stages between 1979 and 1987. British Petroleum merged with Amoco in 1998, becoming BP Amoco plc, and acquired ARCO and Burmah Castrol in 2000 and Aral AG in 2002. The company's name was shortened to BP p.l.c. in 2001. From 2003 to 2013, BP was a partner in the TNK-BP joint venture in Russia, and from 2013 until Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, held a nearly 20% stake in Rosneft.
