Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Reliability Engineer to join the Engineering Solutions (ES) team supporting the Test Operations and Sustainment contract at Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold AFB, TN. This Engineer will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for maintaining and sustaining the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work as a member of the Reliability Engineering group. This group is responsible for development and implementation of the Reliability Centered Maintenance/Preventive Maintenance (RCM/PM) Optimization program at AEDC. Implementation of this program includes influencing Asset Managers and Asset Owners to a proactive maintenance program through a failure mode driven maintenance strategy, best practice planning & scheduling, proper application of reliability engineering principles, and the increased use of condition monitoring technologies for all assets across AEDC. This position will work closely with system engineers and the reliability engineers in the Reliability Engineering & Analytics group in ES to develop, maintain, and improve a long-term reliability and maintenance program for AEDC.

           

Job Duties:

  • Ultimate responsibility for the development, and implementation of RCM/PM Optimization program at AEDC; Implementation of this program includes influencing Asset Managers and Asset Owners to produce a conscientious shift to a proactive maintenance program through a failure mode driven maintenance strategy, best practice planning & scheduling, proper application of reliability engineering principles, and the increased use of condition monitoring technologies.
  • Conduct training on the RCM process.
  • Ensure RCM analysis on critical systems.
  • Rewrite or create new PM’s or other interventions based on RCM analysis results.
  • Evaluate equipment failures and maintenance records (OWAMS, E-Matrix, etc.) for inefficiencies, trends, common failure modes, etc. for systemic root causes and for a proactive shift to Condition Based Maintenance.
  • Prepare reports as necessary for Air Force review.
  • Attend meetings with Mission Area Branch management and represent the RCM function.
  • Spearhead improving foundational data in Oracle WAM (hierarchy, BOM’s, coding, usage, etc.) as the RCM process is implemented across AEDC.
  • Perform Reliability Modeling of AEDC facilities.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • S. degree in industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited engineering college or university.

NOTE: This position is specifically for those with less than 5 years’ engineering experience.

  • Reliability Centered Maintenance and/or coursework, training, or experience in any of the following areas: Reliability Engineering, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Root Cause Analysis.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
  • Due to Air Force Security requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Condition Based Maintenance or any of the predictive technologies utilized in RCM/CBM such as infrared, vibration, ultrasound, electric motor testing, and oil sampling.
  • Internship or co-op experience focused in or including reliability centered maintenance principles or condition-based maintenance technologies.
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional—CMRP certification strongly preferred.
  • Interest and/or knowledge of large industrial operations and dynamic work schedule activities.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Active Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount BNH is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time jobs will be adjusted based upon the number of hours agreed to work at location Tennessee: Arnold Air Force, TN. 

 

L06: $80,000 - $98,000; L07: $84,000 - $112,000 / year at Arnold Air Force Base, TN.
