Job SummaryProfitably add new large commercial and industrial customers to the distribution system. Manage a portfolio of large customers with a focus on maintaining/increasing current sales and margins. Seek to increase margin opportunities by adding equipment to existing customer meters and taking advantage of new technologies including electric vehicle charging stations, LED lighting, microgrids, smart grids, and electric storage. Manage and coordinate large new business projects.
Duties and Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of existing large customers by being their primary contact for rate, billing, and infrastructure discussions. Administer the Electric New Business Line Extension process as per the tariff including the utilization fo the Electric Engineering Services agreement, Line Extension Agreement, tracking of annual revenue requirements and collection of any under collected revenue. Engage in regular audits of the EUD largest customers. Serve as the primary contact for power quality issues, work with the Electric Meter Shop to install data logging devices and to analyze the results. Maximize sales and margins for these customers by suggesting increased production, sustainability measures, EE&C incentives, and new technologies. Promote Electric specific initiatives such as the LED lighting conversion program.
- Add new large commercial and industrial customers to the distribution system. Work with customers to evaluate expected electric loads and prepare formal loadsheet for use by Electric Operations Department. Evaluate revenue stream to ensure profitability in accordance with the Tariff, and work with Operations and Engineering to manage the design and installation of large new business projects.
- Identify and obtain new margin opportunities using new technologies to increase sales. Evaluate utility transmission infrastructure, distribution infrastructure, and HVAC opportunities including the associated electric equipment such as microgrids, smart grids, vehicle charging stations, and electric storage. Evaluate associated natural gas-fired equipment such as fuel cells, emergency generators and carbon/methane capture technology.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key specifiers, including architects, engineers, contractors, developers, with the aim of securing electric projects. Become active in industry /professional organizations to develop relationships and be a technical resource
- Other duties. Provide support to Rates by completing monthly customer rate analysis on existing customers. Handle billing inquiries, rate analyses and complaints for existing customers as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of UGI's gas tariffs, transportation policies and billing for large customers.
- Knowledge of electric equipment, new technologies and other general industry knowledge.
- Knowledge of UGI systems, including SAP CRM, ESRI and DOJM work management.
- General knowledge of UGI Capital project authorization process, environmental issues, ROW, municipal/highway permitting and other construction-related knowledge.
- Well-organized with excellent analytical skills.
- Professional selling skills as desired, as is experience in technical energy-related sales or strong technical aptitude.
- Strong communication skills are a necessity.
Education and Experience- Bachelor's Degree, with a preference for a degree in Electrical Engineering,
- 3+ years preferred energy industry experience
- Work experience in project management and related technical knowledge.
