Regulatory Chief of Staff

$100k - $130k • meaningful equity

About the Role

Ludlow Exchange, which Novig is built on, is a Designated Contract Market. That means the rules we write are federal rules, the standards we set get filed with the CFTC, and the commitments we make are ones we can be held to. In the last two months, we received the fastest DCM designation in Commission history, launched nationwide, filed the first responsible-trading framework codified into a prediction market rulebook, and opened federal litigation against four states.

You'll work directly with our Chief Regulatory & Legal Affairs Officer as the connective tissue of the regulatory function - tracking every open rulemaking, drafting and shepherding filings, running board and committee governance, and turning what we've committed to on paper into something the company actually does. You'll own workstreams end to end from your first month, and you'll be in the room for decisions that determine what this market is allowed to be.

The regulatory landscape for prediction markets is being written right now, in public, on a deadline. This is the seat with the best view of it.

Who you are and what you will do:
  • Track every open rulemaking, comment deadline, and filing, turning rulebook commitments into written procedures, metrics, and review cycles
  • Build the systems that 10x the productivity of the team - trackers, templates, calendars, and briefing documents that don't exist yet
  • Engage directly with the Hill, state governments, and federal agencies including the CFTC and Treasury
  • You are detail-oriented and highly organized with excellent executive functioning
  • You are obsessive and believe deeply in the power of markets
  • You are creative, like working with other creative people, and are motivated by the challenge of an arbitrarily locked door
  • You have good ideas and want to be in an environment where ideas compete, not titles
  • You hate information siloing and dogma
  • You are a team player who believes deeply in the idea of winning as a group. You can disagree without taking things personally
  • Nice-to-haves: Backgrounds in law, policy, government, markets, or journalism

Not for everyone
  • Our work is tied to live sports - that means potential nights, weekends, and pressure included.
  • If you need clear swim lanes, a heavy process, or someone to tell you what to do, this won't be the right environment.

Compensation & benefits
  • $100k - $130k base, benchmarked at top-tier tech companies
  • Meaningful equity for every employee, regardless of role
  • 100% health premiums covered
  • 99% dental & vision covered
  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • HSA + $1,080 annual company contribution
  • $50/monthly company contribution to employee transit
  • $27/day lunch stipend when working from our NYC office
  • $35/day dinner stipend when working from the NYC office after 6:30pm
