Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.
• Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to set priorities.
• Experience with patient health teaching.
• Demonstrate competency in various nursing skills (e.g., injections, intravenous therapy, blood transfusion, wound care, medication administration).
• Minimum 1 year acute medical/surgical experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills; Meditech experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Excellent attendance and discipline-free record required.
• Understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles in health practices is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform RPN duties as specified by the department.
• Deliver compassionate and safe patient care within the 8 West, Acute Medicine Unit.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on health management and resources.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Adhere to hospital policies and code of conduct.
• Participate in continuous professional development and training.
