What Registered Nurse contributes to Cardinal Health

Nursing is responsible for the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing care. Examines patients and administers prescribed medications to facilitate healing and increase comfort. Nursing requires training and or licensed to care for patients.

The Triage Nurse serves as the clinical front line for patient assessment, symptom management, and care coordination across the oncology continuum. This role provides timely telephonic and electronic triage, assesses patient needs using evidence-based protocols, coordinates care with providers and the interdisciplinary team, and ensures safe, efficient navigation through treatment while delivering an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming clinical calls, electronic messages, and symptom management needs.

  • Perform comprehensive nursing triage using evidencebased protocols to assess acuity, escalate appropriately, and coordinate timely interventions.

  • Collaborate with providers to manage treatmentrelated symptoms, toxicities, and urgent clinical concerns.

  • Provide patient education, reinforcement of care plans, and guidance on symptom monitoring and followup.

  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation in the EMR to support continuity of care and risk management.

  • Support standardized triage workflows to ensure timely, consistent patient responses.

  • Escalate system issues, access barriers, or process inefficiencies impacting patient care.

  • Participate in quality improvement, pathway development, and clinical workflow optimization.

  • Serve as a clinical resource for staff regarding triage protocols, symptom management standards, and care coordination practices.

  • AssociateDegree of Science in related field

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • Active RN license for the state of Wyoming in good standing

  • Experience working with oncology patients, preferred

  • 2-4 year of experience, preferred

Anticipated hourly range:$33 per hour - $51.81 per hour
