How you'll make an impact in this roleSupervise the daily activities of the Catheterization Laboratory staff.
- Direct daily departmental flow by prioritizing elective diagnostic cases against emergent "Code STEMI" or trauma activations, ensuring appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios and rapid room turnover in a high-volume, 24/7 interventional environment.
- Supervise and evaluate the clinical performance of RNs and Scrub Techs, providing real-time coaching on advanced hemodynamics, sheath arterial/venous management, and the administration of high-risk sedation and vasoactive medications.
- Serve as the primary clinical liaison between the Cath Lab, Emergency Department, and ICU; manage the rapid mobilization of the "On-Call" team and ensure all specialized equipment (IABP, Impella, or cautery) is sterile and operational for immediate use.
- Lead unit-level compliance by auditing procedural sedation logs, radiation safety protocols, and NCDR registry data; identify clinical gaps and implement "just-in-time" training to maintain the highest standards of Level 2 trauma care and Joint Commission readiness.
What minimum requirements you'll needLicensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
- Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
