Overview:

The Supervisor, Nursing and Patient Care Services in a hospital setting plays a key leadership role in the nursing department, supporting the manager in overseeing all patient care activity on their assigned nursing unit(s). They are responsible for ensuring high standards of care, coordinating daily nursing activities, and facilitating communication between medical teams. Assists with the training, mentoring, and performance evaluations of clinical staff. They also manage patient care assignments, help resolve patient and family concerns, and ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and safety regulations. Additionally, they assist in staffing decisions, maintain inventory for medical supplies, and ensure that the unit is properly equipped to provide quality care.

Department Overview:

Burn Trauma is a 34-bed mixed Intermediate care and medical/surgical unit. There are 17 beds for stepdown/intermediate level of care. The patient population is neurosurgery, trauma, burns and orthopedic trauma. The intermediate care patients are received from both the Burn Trauma ICU and the Neurosurgical ICU. Also, there are 17 beds for Medical/Surgical level of care for neurosurgical, trauma, burns, orthopedic trauma, and bariatric weight loss (gastric bypass and gastric sleeves). Our nurses are trained to work both the intermediate and the medical surgical side. The nurse to patient ratio for the Intermediate Care beds are 3 to 4 and for the Medical/Surgical beds are 5 to 6. The Registered Nurse will work in a collaborative role as part of a team to maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice, to meet the health care needs of patients, their families, and the community.

The 11-week Transition to Practice program focuses on the orientation transition experience with intentional knowledge support and skill acquisition for practice in IMC areas. For new graduates, this TTP program is the start of a comprehensive 6-month residency program to support your transition to practice.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (Required) or MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

  • Registered nursing License (Required)

  • BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience

  • 2 years relevant nursing experience, 1 year nursing leadership experience required

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $104,416.00 - $154,356.80 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
