Position Summary

The Registered Nurse - Supervisor at the Southern Utah Veterans Home provides leadership and oversight to the nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to our veteran residents. This role involves coordinating nursing activities, supervising clinical staff, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to maintain compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily nursing operations and staff activities.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed, ensuring adherence to established nursing protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing staff performance, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Assist in the recruitment, orientation, and ongoing education of nursing personnel.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and nursing activities.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and infection control programs.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide clinical leadership during critical situations.
Qualifications
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Utah.
  • Minimum of 3 years nursing experience, preferably in long-term care or geriatric settings.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
