Unit DescriptionThe 6th floor is a Surgical unit specializing in the care of the patients before and after surgical procedures. Also supports medical overflow.
Ratio: 4:1 - 5:1The surgical patient population we serve includes but is not limited to:
- Hepatobiliary
- Colorectal
- General Surgery
- General orthopaedics (Total Knee, Total Hip, TMA, BKA, etc)
- Ortho spine
- GU (Cystectomy, Prostatectomy, Ileal Conduit, etc)
- GYN
- Head and Neck
Overview of Department Services
The 6th floor Team includes RNs, student nurses, PCTs and Exercise Technicians. We work closely with our rehab partners and have a dedicated therapy gym on the unit. Each service line has dedicated advanced practice providers as part of the surgical team to support enhanced recovery and complex patient needs.
Qualifications- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.
- More than 12 months nursing experience. Solid knowledge and clinical skills.
- Current AHA BLS certification required.
- Must meet all unit specific certification requirements: (PALS, ACLS, NRP)
Additional InformationCompensation:- Pay Range: $37.00 - $54.18
- Other Compensation (if applicable): Shift Differential
- This role is eligible for a $20k Sign-on Bonus
