Per Diem / Contract RN Supervisor - Long-Term Care (LTC)Shift Details
- Full-Time Evenings: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays required
- Float across units - 5 x 8.0-hour shifts
- Contracts must run through February/March end dates
Certifications & Licensure Required
- BLS Certification required (through AHA or RQI only)
- NYS RN Licensure required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of Long-Term Care (LTC) experience
- Previous supervisory experience required
Position Overview
- Under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Oversees the operation of the nursing units
- Personally, or through subordinates, provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units
Key Responsibilities
- Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the Nursing Department's activities, consistent with the philosophy of nursing in compliance with established policies, procedures, standards, and regulations
- Assures quality resident care through teaching and supervision of staff on respective shifts
- Communicates with Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager regarding identified and potential unit problems
- Collaborates with Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Managers to resolve problems
- Contacts Director of Nursing on off hours for only those critical issues requiring resolution
- Leaves appropriate communication at work for all other items
- Makes sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator - LTC (off-shift/weekends) within identified scope of responsibility
