Registered Nurse - Wheeler 5 (Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Orthopedic & Oncology Unit)

About the Role
Looking for a nursing career that offers variety, challenge, and growth? Join Wheeler 5, our 23-bed adult unit that blends medical/surgical, telemetry, orthopedic, and oncology care. As a Registered Nurse here, no two shifts are ever the same. You'll provide comprehensive care for a diverse patient population while collaborating with a skilled, multidisciplinary team. Reporting to nursing leadership, you'll play a vital role in ensuring safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care every day.

What You'll Do
  • Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care using the full nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Monitor telemetry patients and support post-surgical, orthopedic, and oncology cases with specialized care.
  • Create, implement, and update individualized care plans for patients and families.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate seamless care.
  • Educate patients and families, empowering them with knowledge for recovery and self-care.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes with accuracy.
  • Mentor and support colleagues through preceptorship, teamwork, and professional development.
  • Participate in unit and hospital initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes.
  • Advocate for patient rights, privacy, and dignity always.

What You Bring
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Massachusetts RN license.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Previous medical/surgical, telemetry, or orthopedic nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and customer service skills.
  • Comfort with computers and commitment to confidentiality.
