Registered Nurse - Special Care Unit

About the Role
Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your skills make a direct impact on patient lives every day? We're looking for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Special Care Department. Reporting to the Nursing Manager, you'll use the full nursing process assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver safe, high-quality care to patients and their families. This is more than a role; it's a chance to be the steady hand, the calm voice, and the advocate patients need most.

What You'll Do
  • Deliver safe, evidence-based care tailored to patients of all ages in the Special Care Unit.
  • Create, implement, and adjust individualized plans of care for patients and their families.
  • Supervise, mentor, and delegate responsibilities to support staff, ensuring excellent team-based care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary partners to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families, empowering them to understand and participate in their care.
  • Document care plans and patient progress clearly and accurately.
  • Stay current with continuing education, safety protocols, and professional competencies.
  • Support staff development through preceptorship and mentoring.
  • Actively contribute to unit and hospital projects focused on improving patient care.

What You Bring
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Massachusetts RN license.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire for experienced RNs; within 6 months for new grads.
  • Medical/Surgical and ICU/CCU experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, assessment, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Comfort with computers and a commitment to patient confidentiality.
