Registered Nurse (RN) - HCS/TxHML Program

About the Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides clinical oversight and nursing services across assigned HCS/TxHML provider sites. This role is responsible for conducting assessments, managing delegated nursing tasks, and ensuring compliance with Texas Board of Nursing standards and state regulations. The RN operates with a high level of independence while supporting multiple locations, maintaining documentation accuracy, and ensuring quality care delivery.

This position is structured as an Independent Contractor (1099) role, with full-time hours based on caseload and service needs. The role requires flexibility to travel between sites and manage competing priorities while maintaining compliance and timelines.

What You'll DoClinical Oversight & Patient Care

  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and evaluations
  • Develop and update individualized nursing service plans
  • Perform RN delegation and supervise LVNs and unlicensed staff
  • Evaluate staff competencies and clinical performance
  • Monitor health status and report significant changes

Medication & Compliance

  • Review Medication Administration Records (MARs) for accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with HCS/TxHML and Texas Administrative Code (TAC)
  • Coordinate with physicians, pharmacies, and care teams

Documentation & Reporting

  • Complete documentation in approved systems (e.g., TaskMaster Pro)
  • Submit assessments, reports, and follow-ups within required timelines (24-48 hours)
  • Support audits, survey readiness, and QA/QI processes
