JOB DESCRIPTION

Registered Nurse (RN), Director Women's Services

Fulltime:  Days

We are seeking a leader with substantial frontline operational experience, including strategic planning, operational execution, workflow optimization, and team leadership in a complex and competitive environment. 

How you will contribute 

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

 

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

POSITION SUMMARY:

Directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation. 

Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,
administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.

Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.

Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.

Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.

Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

Regular and reliable attendance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information:

Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.

Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.

Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensures quality standards.

 Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.

What we are looking for 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required

  • Master's Degree Preferred

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required

  • Current RN license to practice in NC

Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins

Responsibilities

Minimum Work Experience

 

Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Registered Nurse in Women's Services
