Level 1 RN - Outpatient Cardiology & Interventional Radiology | Full-TimeShift Details
- Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
- No nights, no weekends, no holidays, no on-call required
- Clinic setting
- Generally 2 days per week in Cardiology and 3 days per week in Interventional Radiology
- Schedule: 5x8-hour shifts
Important Note
- Moderate sedation is a large part of this role - previous experience is required
Education
- Minimum: RN graduate
- Preferred: BSN
Certifications
- BLS - through AHA or RQI specifically
- ACLS - through AHA or RQI specifically
Experience
- Minimum: 2 years of patient care with recent arrhythmia recognition/cardiology experience, moderate sedation, treadmill, and nuclear stress testing
- Preferred: ICU or Cardiology nursing experience
- Preferred: Moderate sedation competency
- Preferred: Experience with Meditech
Required Skills & Licensure
- NY RN License
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of patient care experience with recent experience in arrhythmia recognition and cardiology
Essential Job Functions
- Experienced with and performs Treadmill, ETTs, and Nuclear Stress Testing
- Conducts initial patient interview and makes preliminary assessment of test data
- Prepares study for physician interpretation
- Works closely with physicians, cardiac rehab/cardiology supervisor to assure accurate and timely results
- Monitors patients before, during, and after procedures
- Provides patient and family education
- Assists with monitoring for special procedures (e.g., stress-echo studies, tilt table studies)
- Recognizes emergency situations and responds according to policy/protocol
- Identifies and interprets arrhythmias
- Performs conscious sedation as needed
