Job DescriptionThe UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Walnut Creek OR is seeking a dedicated CLIN NURSE 2 to join its surgical and procedural teams. With a multidisciplinary approach, the hospital offers a range of services, including Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, and General Surgery. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe and therapeutic care, utilizing the nursing process, and fostering a harmonious work environment. They will work collaboratively with other team members and physicians to ensure high-quality patient care and customer service.
Responsibilities- Maintain knowledge and skills essential for nursing practice.
- Adhere to the Nurse Practice Act and legal responsibilities.
- Utilize the nursing process for patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Function as an integral member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams.
- Perform established nursing procedures and related duties as required.
- Provide nursing care for patients with complex needs with appropriate supervision.
- Assist in managing patient care administered by other nursing team members.
- Demonstrate service excellence and adhere to UCSF Medical Center standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including hallways and patient areas.
- Protect the physical environment, equipment, and patient information.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of recent PACU or PICU experience as an RN.
- Three (3) years of recent pediatric experience as an RN.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task under pressure.
- Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge.
- On-call commitment is required.
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of Critical Care experience as an RN (PICU, ED, ICU).
- BSN degree is preferred.
- Experience in an Ambulatory Surgical Care Center is an asset.
Licensure/Certifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in California
- Current healthcare provider CPR certification
- Active American Heart Association PALS certification
- ASPAN certification strongly preferred
Salary InformationThe final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
