Qualifications

Job Description

The UCSF Bayfront Operating Room (OR) consists of 14 surgical suites and 2 procedural rooms with 23 hours surgical stay facility. Our primary focus is multidisciplinary team-based approach and staffing, advanced technology, including integrated suites and robotic surgery.

Services include, but are not limited to: Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck (OHNS), Urology, Gynecology, Plastics, Pain Service, MIS Spine, General, OMFS, and Robotics.

All patient care team members are responsible to meet patient needs, demonstrate willingness to learn new skills, and foster a harmonious work environment in which high quality patient care and customer service is consistently provided. Team members promote a cooperative working relationship with each other, physicians, other disciplines and the public by facilitating and enhancing communication, displaying honesty and respect, displaying sensitivity to cultural differences, and expressing and accepting feedback in a professional manner.

    • Carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required.
    • Performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision.
    • Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum two years of recent RN clinical experience in an adult operation room in an out-patient setting.
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
  • Possession of the legal requirements to practice as a Registered Nurse as determined by the California Board of Registered Nursing and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
  • Proficiency ability to independently circulate all case types within at least three of the following services:Ophthalmology/Cornea/Retina,GYN/Robotic,GU/Robotic,GeneralSurgery/Robotic, OHNS/Airway, MIS SPINE.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
  • BSN
  • CNOR
  • Proficient in Scrubbing role in at least 2 of the services listed above.
  • ACLS;
  • RN sedation


REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
  • Current healthcare provider CPR BLS or ACLS certification
