Responsibilities
The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process. She/he implements the Nursing Service standards of care and practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served and the areas of clinical practice. The Registered Nurse navigation center serves as the clinical coordinator for patients undergoing surgical procedures. The RN ensures patients are medically and administratively prepared for surgery by coordinating care across multiple departments. The RN assists in ensuring a seamless patient experience while reducing cancellations, delays, and preventable complications.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Currently licensed and registered to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York.
Current BLS certification.
Currently licensed and registered to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
Minimum of (3) years of recent professional nursing experience within surgical services (ASU, OR, PACU, ENDO) preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills.
Thorough understanding of the perioperative care process.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
