Registered Nurse (MDS)

Martha & Mary Health Services

Martha & Mary is seeking a Minimum Data Sets (MDS) Nurse to work closely with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to ensure timely and accurate completion of Minimum Data Sets (MDSs) for assigned patients/residents. May coordinate information systems operations and education for clinical staff

The Wage:

The hourly wage offered for this position is $44/hr. up to $47/hr. based off applicable experience as determined by HR and the hiring manger.

The Schedule:

Full-time or part-time positions available.

A typical day looks like:
  • Work in collaboration with the IDT to assess the needs of each patient.
  • Assist with coordination and management of daily care management meetings, including review of resident care and the setting of the Assessment Reference Date.
  • Complete and coordinate the RAI process complying with Federal and State regulations.
  • Monitor MDS and care plan documentation in medical records to support MDS coding for assigned patients.
  • Complete accurate coding of the MDS with information obtained via medical record review, observation, and interviews with facility staff, patient and family members in a timely manner.
  • Maintain frequent and accurate data entry and current MDS status of assigned residents into computerized MDS programs according to Federal and State guidelines.
  • Support the tracking system of MDS schedules (timeframes and due dates).
  • May attend IDT and other meetings to gather information, communication changes and maintain updated records.
  • Continually update knowledge base related to data entry and computer technology.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities.
  • Interact with Medicare Beneficiary Hotline and third-party payers to ensure compliance with Federal and State law and patient rights.
  • Complete electronic submission of required documentation to the State database and other entities per company policy.
  • Provide leadership support to licensed nursing staff through rotating on-call coverage.
  • Train/educate Aides on general ADL and current assessments and goals on ADLs.
  • Train Aides on current residents in MDS window and general MDS education on an ongoing basis.
  • Participate in meetings, including but not limited to a meeting looking forward at future assessments, a meeting looking back at recent previous assessments, QA meeting and IDT meeting.


Required Experience:
  • Current RN (Registered Nurse) License in the State of Washington.
  • MDS 3.0 experience required.
  • Skilled Nursing experience required.
