EDOCE or Emergency Department Observation Clinical Evaluation is an extension of the ED under the observation services. This unit has 12 Bed Semiprivate Bay Style. Patients in this space are evaluated for discharge or movement to our observation unit for extended care or concerted to inpatient awaiting movement to an inpatient floor. In addition, this unit supported with ED and Inpatient Transition from Discharge to Home (i.e. waiting on equipment or transportation). Orientation would occur on the unit observation 2A. It is expected that there could be floating to observation 2A or into the ED for Medical Boarder Support.
Summary:
Under the direction of the unit manager, this role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct age-appropriate clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. The role is responsible for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
