  • Manage critical airways and respond to patient emergencies
  • Collaborate with cardiology team to support diagnostic and interventional procedures

Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab

Shift: 10 Hour Variable
Hours per Shift: 40 hours guaranteed
Experience: 2 years minimum in coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral experience
License: Registered Nurse (RN) - approved by a board of nursing
Certifications: BLS, ACLS

Must-Have:
Travelers must live 100 miles away from the facility.
Patient Types include:
Coronary artery disease
STEMI
Cardiogenic shock
Complex total occlusions
Diagnostic Cath procedures
Valvular disease
Renal disease
Carotid stenosis
Limb salvage
Peripheral stenosis
Thrombosis disease
Impella insertion
LVAD insertions

Patient Ratios: 1 RN to 1 patient

Required Skills for RN:
Critical patient assessment skills
Vasoactive and sedation drug administration
Sterile technique
Air management
Laser and lithotripsy atherectomy
Cardiac Cath lab and peripheral IV skills

Devices used include:
IABP
Impella
Rotoblator
Penumbra

Techs must have:
2 years minimum with coronary, complex PCI, and peripheral experience
Ability to perform table movement (panning)
Arrhythmia recognition and treatment
Critical patient assessment skills

Travelers will not have to float to other departments.

Support on the Unit:
Charge Nurse: M-F, 0600-1630

Charting System:
EPIC (required)
Epic Cupid (preferred)
Alaris
Omnicell

Scheduling includes a weekend rotation of every fourth weekend.

On-Call Requirements:
1-2 days per week from 1630-0600
Every fourth weekend from 1630 Friday to 0600 Monday

Holiday Expectations: Possibly 1 per assignment.

Time Off Approval: Must go through the Manager.

Scrub Color: Procedural scrubs will be provided.
