Full Job Description
Utilizes the nursing process to direct and deliver comprehensive nursing care to Cath Lab patients in a safe and proficient manner, in accordance with individual patient needs. Provides guidance and supervision of Cath Lab personnel as needed. Assumes Charge responsibilities when necessary. Assist in all procedural set up to facilitate schedule flow. Functions in all Cath Lab roles such as scrub assist and hemodynamic monitoring as needed. Acts as patient advocate within the hospital environment.

  • Performs thorough patient assessments, provides care based on needs, and documents accurately according to hospital policy.
  • Educates patients and families appropriately, considering age-related needs, and verifies understanding.
  • Delivers direct patient care following standards of practice; executes physician orders promptly and accurately (including verbal/phone orders).
  • Monitors patient condition, prioritizes care, communicates changes, and maintains confidentiality.
  • Manages assigned patients, supports team members, and ensures continuity of care through clear reporting.
  • Administers medications, IV therapy, and performs procedures (e.g., post-cath care, sheath removal, venipuncture).
  • Operates and maintains medical equipment, including crash carts and monitoring systems.
  • Demonstrates competency in emergency response (BLS/code procedures) and sterile/aseptic techniques.
  • Assists during procedures (scrub, monitor, table support) and ensures radiation safety compliance.
  • Coordinates patient care across departments and assists with scheduling, transport, and room turnover.
  • Maintains accurate billing, documentation (including pacemaker data), and inventory/supplies.
  • Participates in quality control, data collection, and hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Communicates effectively with staff, patients, and physicians.
  • Works independently, solves problems, and assists in conflict resolution.
  • Supports unit operations, floats when needed, and adheres to safety protocols ("Patients First").
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.


What qualifications you will need:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
