Duties Description The Registered Nurse 1 will coordinate, direct and provide professional nursing care to residents of the Nursing Home under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse 2 and/or Assistant Director of Nursing/Director of Nursing.

Minimum Qualifications Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health St. Albans Veterans Home employee with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Registered Nurse 1, Grade 18.

Transfer: Current New York State employee with one or more years of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service
in a position eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, to a Registered Nurse 1, Grade 18.

Open Competitive NY HELPS qualifications: Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate must have Long-Term Care Nursing Experience and Wound Care experience preferred.

Additional Comments Permanent, competitive full-time appointments, or non-competitive full-time appointments via HELPS.

Posted salary range ($118,726 - $128,120) includes statutory hiring rate at step 4 and job rate for grade 18, plus a geographic pay differential of $35,000 in addition to $4,1500 of Downstate Adjustment.

Inconvenience pay program of $825 per year will be paid to employees who work four (4) hours or more between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Hours worked between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on an overtime basis are not included for Inconvenience Pay. Additional Shift differential of 7% for evening shift and 10% for Night shift.

This position is part of the NYS HELPS program. No examination is required.
