Completion of an accredited Ultrasound program or equivalent work experience with ARDMS or CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification required.
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification must be obtained within 1 year.
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDCS) certification must be obtained within 1 year.
Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 90 days of employment.
Preferred experience in performing echocardiograms.
Responsibilities
Perform echocardiographic studies, including stress echo, TEE, and contrast echo studies.
Recognize normal and abnormal sonographic characteristics and adjust scanning techniques for optimal image quality.
Analyze findings during examinations to provide comprehensive data for physician diagnosis and patient management.
Assess patient charts and prepare preliminary report worksheets for physician review.

Summary
This position performs non-invasive ultrasound diagnostic procedures on the heart (echo, TEE and stress echo).
This position works under the supervision of the Director and is employed by Mosaic Health Systems.
Duties
Performs echocardiographic studies, stress echo, TEE, and contrast echo studies.
Recognizes sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissues, structures and blood flow; Adjusts scanning technique to optimize image quality and spectral waveform characteristics.
Analyzes sonographic findings throughout the course of the examination so that a comprehensive exam is completed and sufficient data is provided to the physician to direct patient management and render a final diagnosis.
Assesses patient charts and prepares preliminary report worksheet for physician.
Perform patient assessments as it relates to the diagnostic ultrasound procedure.

Qualifications
All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. Successful completion of accredited Ultrasound program or Equivalent work experience paired with ARDMS or CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer required.
RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer within 1 Year is required. ARDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer within 1 Year is required. . Clinical/BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon employment within 90 Days is required.
Experience in performing echocardiograms preferred.
