Join TheraPeds Partners as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) supporting students in San Mateo, California during the . In this full-time, school-based role, you'll work alongside educators, therapists, and families to help students build behavioral, social, and academic skills in a supportive educational environment. What You'll Be Doing

As an RBT, you'll play an important role in helping students reach their individualized goals by:
  • Supporting the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans
  • Tracking student progress through data collection and ongoing documentation
  • Participating in evaluations and contributing to student programming and goal development
  • Collaborating with teachers, behavior specialists, related service providers, and families to ensure consistent student support
  • Assisting with case management responsibilities and maintaining required educational records
  • Promoting positive behaviors while helping create a structured, supportive learning environment
  • Communicating regularly with interdisciplinary team members regarding student progress and recommendations
Position Highlights
  • Full-time school-based position with a 37.5-hour weekly schedule
  • 2026-2027 school year (August 2026 through May 2027)
  • Onsite position
  • Serve students across PreK through 12th grade in a collaborative educational environment
  • Provide individualized therapy services, complete comprehensive evaluations, participate in educational planning, and support student progress through consultation and case management
  • Work closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote positive student outcomes
  • Guaranteed paid hours include direct services, documentation, report writing, planning, meetings, and administrative responsibilities
  • Balanced caseloads designed to support quality services and work-life balance
  • Ongoing collaboration and professional support from both the partnering school district and the TheraPeds Partners team
  • $55-$65+ per hour, with estimated weekly earnings of approximately $1,100-$1,300+

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred)
  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • Completion of 40-hour RBT training program
  • Pass the RBT competency assessment.
  • Pass the BACB RBT exam.
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Experience working with children or individuals with autism or behavioral needs preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in a school setting preferred
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in use of technology
  • Fingerprint background clearance
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications


Physical Requirements

Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
