The Regional Vice President (RVP) of Operations is a seasoned, results-driven executive responsible for driving operational excellence and financial performance across a defined geographic region within Dealers Choice.
This leader oversees a network of branches through a team of Branch Managers and carries full P&L accountability for the region. The RVP serves as the operational bridge between QXO corporate leadership and the Dealers Choice field organization-ensuring consistent, high-quality execution of enterprise strategies and initiatives.
Success in this role requires a balance of strong operational discipline and sales leadership.
The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of operations while also demonstrating the ability to partner effectively with sales teams to drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Industry background is flexible - we are open to candidates from distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or other multi-site business environments who have led both operations and sales teams.
What you'll do:
1. P&L Ownership
- Own full financial performance of the region, including revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and EBIT.
- Set and manage budgets, monitor key financial metrics, and implement corrective actions when performance deviates from plan.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and margin-enhancing initiatives without compromising service standards.
- Ensure transparency and accountability for financial results at every branch level.
2. Operational Leadership
- Lead Branch Managers to ensure consistency, compliance, and high performance across all branches.
- Establish and monitor KPIs around safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, working capital, and customer satisfaction.
- Drive operational excellence through process discipline, service quality, and facility standards.
- Champion a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the organization.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and HR leaders to align regional objectives with enterprise priorities.
- Promote seamless communication between corporate and field teams, ensuring regional insights inform strategic decisions.
- Lead joint planning sessions to optimize inventory, logistics, and resource allocation.
- Serve as a unifying force ensuring accountability and alignment across all functions.
4. Strategic Execution
- Translate and deploy QXO and Dealers Choice strategies, programs, and process improvements.
- Ensure consistent adoption of technology rollouts, pricing models, and operational standards.
- Measure and report on initiative success; provide clear, data-driven feedback to leadership.
- Bring enterprise strategy to life through measurable, branch-level execution.
5. Customer & Market Focus
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers.
- Monitor market dynamics and competitive trends, sharing insights with leadership.
- Support business development and assist in strategic negotiations when needed.
- Enhance Dealers Choice's reputation as a reliable, value-driven partner in every market served.
6. Talent Development
- Attract, develop, and retain top operational and sales leadership talent.
- Provide hands-on coaching and mentorship to Branch Managers and key field leaders.
- Lead succession planning and build a deep leadership bench.
- Foster a culture of empowerment, accountability, and results.
What you'll bring:
Ideal Experience & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, ideally in a multi-site, high-volume business (e.g., distribution, logistics, building products, industrial services, or related fields).
- Proven success in P&L management and driving both operational and sales performance.
- Strong foundation in operations (process, execution, and metrics) combined with experience managing or partnering closely with sales teams.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence in complex, matrixed organizations.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen; ability to leverage KPIs and data insights to drive improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
