The Regional Vice-President (VP), Personal Banking, Eastern Canada has accountability as a member of Personal and Business Banking, Canada in determining the strategic direction, providing leadership and business management of the Personal Banking region in terms of supporting clients on their journey to achieve their ambitions, to drive high levels of performance in the areas of growth, revenue and client experience. The role contributes to execution on our client-focused strategy to build a modern, relationship oriented bank and deliver sustainable market leading performance, while championing our Purpose and helping to bring our brand to life. The Regional VP is jointly responsible with the Regional President for regional business and risk management, profitability, cost and expense management. What You’ll be Doing • Shape the Personal Banking Strategy. Partner with the Regional President, Personal Banking and senior Personal Banking leaders to define, evolve, and execute the long-term vision, operating model, and differentiated client value proposition. • Drive Business Performance. Provide strategic oversight of a complex, high-profile markets — delivering sustainable business results, exceptional client experiences, and a strong risk and compliance culture. • Inspire High-Performance Leadership. Cultivate a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and inclusive leadership — investing in coaching, candid feedback, and leadership development to build the next generation of talent and connect individual roles to CIBC's enterprise ambitions. • Lead National Strategic Initiatives. Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and cross-functional business partners to ensure strategies, initiatives, and compensation frameworks reflect the needs of Personal Banking clients, frontline teams, and CIBC's broader strategic goals. • Uphold Regulatory Standards. Maintain the highest standards of licensing, accreditation, and operational compliance — including CIRO-MFD requirements — while embedding a proactive risk mindset across all levels of the team. What We’re Looking For • Significant senior leadership experience in Personal and Business Banking, with a strong record of building trusted client relationships, leading advice-based sales, and delivering business growth. • Exceptional people leadership capability, with experience leading large, diverse sales organizations and developing high-performing teams and leaders in a dynamic environment • Proven ability to lead through change, maintaining employee engagement, clear communication, and alignment to strategic priorities during periods of transformation. • Strong business and financial acumen, including experience with strategic planning, business planning, and cost management to support sustainable growth and performance. • Highly effective relationship builder and influencer, able to work across a complex matrix organization to drive collaboration, alignment, and results without direct authority. • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively up, down, and across the organization and turn strategic intent into clear, actionable priorities. • Strong client and market orientation, with the ability to leverage market insights, evolving client needs, and competitive dynamics to strengthen the client value proposition and business strategy. • Experience leading strategic initiatives with accountability for execution, stakeholder management, risk management, and delivery of measurable business outcomes. • Strong understanding of technology platforms, operational processes, data, and AI, with the ability to influence improvements that enhance frontline effectiveness and the client experience. • Community-minded and externally credible, with the presence and judgment to represent CIBC with clients, partners, regulators, government, and community stakeholders. • Demonstrated commitment to risk management, regulatory compliance, and stewardship, with the ability to embed strong controls, governance, and disciplined business practices across a large team. • You are fluent in French and English to serve our clients in the community.
