Full Job Description
As Regional Security Manager (RSM) - Canada, you lead, implement, and continuously elevate the physical and industrial security program across assigned Canadian operations. In this role, you play a key part in ensuring full compliance with Schneider Electric's Global and Regional Security Directives, as well as applicable Government of Canada security programs and federal and provincial regulations. You report directly to the Canada Security Manager.

You assess site risks, drive corrective action plans, and design and deliver impactful security training programs. You support the design and deployment of security systems and take the lead on security investigations and incident response activities when they arise.

Working closely with Human Resources, Facilities, Safety, Legal, and site and business leadership, you help safeguard employees, assets, information, and operations. You do so while ensuring full alignment with Canadian legal, privacy, and labor requirements, positioning security as both a business enabler and a critical layer of protection across the organization.

What you'll be doing

Security Program Management
  • Assess, implement, and oversee physical security programs that prevent unauthorized access and protect people, workplace, assets, and operations.
  • Conduct periodic security assessments, audits, and risk reviews; document findings and lead corrective actions plans with the business risk owners.
  • Ensure compliance with Schneider Electric security directives and applicable Canadian regulatory obligations.
  • Evaluate existing security controls and recommend improvements to mitigate risks across manufacturing, distribution sites, R&D, and offices.
  • Serve as the primary regional security contact for assigned Canadian facilities.
  • Provide oversight of contract guarding services.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Canada Border Services Agency's (CBSA) Partners in Protection program.
  • Ensure all security activities comply with PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

Industrial Security
  • Support compliance with the Government of Canada Industrial Security Program (ISP), including acting as Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO) when required, and support personnel security screening and clearance activities.
  • Serve as Designated Office (DO) under the Controlled Goods Program, conducting eligibility assessments and ensuring ongoing compliance for employees and contractors.

Security Systems & Technology
  • Support designated sites deployment of security technologies (access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance).
  • Ensure systems are deployed and operated in accordance with Schneider Electric technology requirements.

Training & Awareness
  • Deliver security training programs, including workplace violence prevention, and other general security awareness.
  • Provide industrial security, Controlled Goods, and sensitive-information protection awareness training, as required.
  • Provide collateral training on sensitive information protection and industrial security awareness where needed.

Incident Management & Investigations
  • Coordinate and manage security incidents as required.
  • Conduct investigations into theft, workplace violence escalations, and other security-related risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Complete incident investigations and reports, providing clear, professional reporting, as appropriate.

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
  • Serve as a point of contact for physical security matters across the region.
  • Partner with HR, Facilities, Safety, and other site functions to strengthen local security practices.
  • Coach and support Site Security Coordinators with management of site security responsibilities.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with local site stakeholders and functional partners.

What you bring

  • Meet the requirements to obtain and maintain Canadian government security clearance at the Secret level, in accordance with applicable regulations and programs.
  • Be eligible to obtain ACSO (Alternate Company Security Officer) designation and support CSO responsibilities as a designated backup within Canadian industrial security frameworks.
  • Be eligible to be designated as a Designated Officer (DO) under the Controlled Goods Program, including meeting all associated regulatory and reliability requirements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully complete enhanced background verification processes, including criminal, identity, and financial checks required in regulated environments.
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate autonomously, make decisions in dynamic or ambiguous situations, and take ownership of outcomes.
  • Navigate effectively within matrixed organizations, with the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority and drive alignment.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and discretion, particularly when handling sensitive or confidential information and managing competing stakeholder expectations.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive topics clearly, confidently, and pragmatically, adapting to a wide range of audiences.
  • Demonstrate 3-5 years of experience in a security-related role, ideally within physical security, investigations, or site risk management environments.
  • Demonstrate a foundational understanding of physical security systems (access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance) and the ability to engage with technical stakeholders.
  • Be available to travel up to 30% across Canada to support site operations and on-site assessments.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Business, or a related field, or bring equivalent practical experience.

You might also have
