Regional Scheduler

Job Summary

This position will function as part of the Performance & Reliability Group within Fossil & Hydro Fleet Maintenance and Reliability, residing within the region being supported (South Georgia).

This position will serve as a Planned Outage scheduling subject matter expert for Primavera scheduling activities. They will provide field support with building and maintaining outage schedules, and optimizing the usage of outage resources.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)
  • Demonstrated ability in generation outage scheduling activities within Primavera applications. Must be fully proficient in leveling resources, daily updates, building sequence of events, and identifying critical path activities.
  • Significant plant maintenance experience, preferably in both maintenance and planning required. Knowledgeable of generating plant technology, maintenance, and operations related to major outage and project operations. System owner or team leader experience is preferred.
  • Diverse experience with other utilities, construction, or other industries beneficial.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or a 2-year or 4-year Technical Degree is preferred, however appropriate experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships; strong interpersonal skills capable of interacting with various team members (supervision, contractors, vendors, and staff peers).
  • Strong computer skills and expertise in the usage of Excel, Access, Microsoft Word, etc.
  • Must be available for 24-hour call-out.


Job Responsibilities
  • Build/develop/track Level 4 Planned outage schedules that adhere to the Fleet Minimum Scheduling Standards.
  • Maintain accurate and timely communications with plant functional teams. Ability to work effectively across operating companies, particularly with planning resources from individual facilities.
  • Drive value through optimum usage of resources. Prioritize plant work for resource leveling of crafts, minimizing baseline staffing requirements. Coordination, as needed in planned outages, to analyze delays and impacts; help develop recovery schedules.
  • Serve as regional expert on Primavera P6 scheduling and its capabilities. Share best practices/lessons learned across the Fleet.
  • Facilitate retail fleet plant scheduling knowledge.
  • Lead scheduling activities on Outage Readiness Reviews.
