Job Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager is accountable for driving consistent execution of commercial strategy by ensuring Account Executives effectively translate business priorities, customer insights, and value-based selling principles into meaningful customer action and sustainable business growth. This role is accountable for ensuring the region attains sales and margin objectives for CooperVision products. Provides leadership through coaching, developing, and directing a team of Account Executives while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and high performance. Serves as the primary leader responsible for translating commercial strategy into regional execution plans that drive sustainable growth. Leads by example and partners cross-functionally to improve field execution, enhance customer outcomes, and develop future sales talent.

As a Regional Sales Manager, it is strongly desired to reside within the assigned region and with reasonable distance proximity to all of their assigned territories.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed regional sales, market share, and margin objectives.
  • Drive business performance through the coaching, development, and leadership of Account Executives.
  • Conduct regular field coaching visits utilizing a structured coaching process to improve selling skills, business acumen, account management capabilities, and customer engagement effectiveness.
  • Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain a high-performing team of Account Executives.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, annual objectives, and individualized development plans aligned with company goals.
  • Develop and execute regional business plans that support commercial priorities and growth objectives.
  • Analyze territory and customer performance to identify opportunities, risks, and actions required to drive growth.
  • Build a high-performance culture through continuous coaching, talent assessment, succession planning, and recognition of individual and team achievements.
  • Identify top growth opportunities within the region and partner with Account Executives to develop and execute strategic account plans.
  • Manage promotional investments and regional resources to maximize business impact and return on investment.
  • Partner with Marketing, Professional Affairs, Customer Experience, Training, Operations, and Sales Leadership to successfully execute strategic initiatives and business priorities.
  • Lead organizational change through effective communication, accountability, and adoption of new business processes, tools, and programs.
  • Plan and conduct regional meetings and business reviews, communicating performance, opportunities, and action plans to sales leadership.
  • Maintain proficiency in CRM systems and utilize available business insights to improve regional execution and decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational objectives.


Travel:
  • Approximately 50-70% domestic travel required.
  • Regular overnight travel within assigned region.
  • Periodic travel outside assigned region for national meetings, leadership meetings, training programs, and conferences.

  • Remote home office environment.
  • Extensive travel within assigned geography.
  • Frequent automobile and air travel.
  • Long periods of driving, customer-facing activity, and computer-based work.
  • Incumbent must reside within the assigned geographic region.


Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of successful sales, account management, customer-facing commercial, or related business experience.
  • Demonstrated history of achieving or exceeding performance expectations and delivering business results.
  • Proven ability to build customer relationships, influence stakeholders, and execute strategic business plans.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, training, leading projects, or serving as an informal leader preferred.
  • Experience within healthcare, vision care, medical device, pharmaceutical, consumer products, or related industries preferred.
  • Experience utilizing CRM tools and sales analytics preferred.


Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Associate degree plus relevant commercial experience may be considered.
  • Equivalent combination of education and demonstrated business experience may be considered.

* A valid driver's license and proof of minimum level of insurance coverage and satisfactory driving record as required by the company.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $146,586.00 and $209,409.00 per year and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
