Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking to grow our field sales team with a Regional Sales Manager who can help bridge two high-growth markets for Teledyne FLIR: physical security and fire life safety. The Ideal candidate will be based in the Houston, Texas area.

The Regional Sales Manager - Advanced Detection, Security & Fire Life Safety will be responsible for growing FLIR's Security and Early Fire Detection business across assigned accounts and territory. This role will work directly with security integrators, fire alarm integrators, manufacturer representatives, VARs, consulting engineers, AHJs, and end users to create demand, influence specifications, enable partners, and close profitable business.

Our portfolio includes thermal and visible cameras, perimeter security solutions, VMS-enabled security applications, radar-enabled detection, and code compliant thermal fire detection technologies designed to integrate into fire alarm and life safety environments.

This is a customer-facing, territory-building role for someone who understands how to sell technical solutions through influence: with end users, channel partners, engineers, integrators, and internal teams.

As the Regional Sales Manager - Security & Fire Life Safety, you will be a critical part of Teledyne FLIR's growth strategy in the Americas.

You will build, expand, and manage relationships across security and fire life safety channels, including integrators, dealers, EPCs, consultants, engineers, AHJs, and strategic end users. You will create demand for FLIR solutions by conducting technology presentations, consultative demonstrations, training sessions, jobsite/application reviews, and customer meetings that connect FLIR technology to real-world safety, security, and operational outcomes.

The successful candidate will own territory growth, develop new opportunities, support strategic accounts, and help customers understand how thermal imaging can improve detection, response, and resilience in applications such as critical infrastructure, data centers, industrial facilities, petrochemical sites, utilities, commercial campuses, logistics hubs, government facilities, and high-value perimeter security environments.

What You'll Do:
  • Grow sales of Teledyne FLIR Security and Early Fire Detection solutions within the assigned territory.
  • Target and influence end users, security integrators, fire alarm integrators, VARs, manufacturer representatives, consulting engineers, AHJs, and strategic channel partners.
  • Develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline through CRM discipline, opportunity qualification, forecasting, and consistent account planning.
  • Create demand by delivering technical presentations, product demonstrations, training sessions, and consultative solution reviews.
  • Help partners and customers understand how FLIR thermal, visible, radar, VMS, and fire detection technologies fit into physical security and fire/life safety applications.
  • Work with integrators and engineering stakeholders to influence specifications, design requirements, and project standards.
  • Support channel activation by training integrators and partners on applications, value proposition, positioning, and competitive differentiation.
  • Partner with internal sales, product management, applications engineering, marketing, and customer support teams to remove barriers and win projects.
  • Gather market intelligence on customer needs, competitive activity, partner capability, AHJ/code acceptance, and product gaps.
  • Support projects from early influence through close, handoff, and post-award coordination where needed.
  • Represent Teledyne FLIR at industry events, customer meetings, partner trainings, and trade shows.

What You Will Need:
  • Significant experience in technical B2B sales, regional sales management, business development, or channel sales within physical security, fire alarm, fire life safety, low-voltage, building technology, industrial safety, or related markets.
  • Experience selling through or working with integrators, dealers, VARs, manufacturer representatives, consultants, engineers, or channel partners.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: video surveillance, VMS, access control, perimeter security, thermal cameras, visible cameras, radar, fire alarm systems, fire detection, fire/life safety, or building systems.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with technical and commercial stakeholders, including end users, integrators, engineers, consultants, and executive decision makers.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to translate technical product capabilities into customer outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify, advance, and close complex opportunities.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills; able to confidently present to customers, partners, and industry audiences.
  • CRM discipline with accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and account planning.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote field-based role while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory for customer visits, partner meetings, trainings, project reviews, and industry events.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel by personal, rental, or company-approved vehicle as required.

Nice to Have:
  • Existing network in the Houston / Texas / Gulf Coast market across security integrators, fire alarm contractors, industrial accounts, data centers, petrochemical facilities, utilities, municipalities, or critical infrastructure customers.
  • Fire life safety experience, including exposure to NFPA 72, fire alarm system design, AHJ engagement, fire protection engineering firms, or code-driven sales cycles.
  • NICET certification, CFPS designation, or equivalent industry credential.
  • Experience with CAD, Bluebeam, Revit, drawings, specifications, or project documentation.
  • Experience selling to data centers, energy, petrochemical, industrial, government, education, commercial, or large enterprise environments.
  • Background working for or selling through security/fire integrators such as national accounts, regional integrators, or manufacturer representative firms.
  • Experience with thermal imaging, video analytics, remote monitoring, autonomous detection, or emerging detection technologies.

What Teledyne FLIR offers you:
  • Opportunity to develop your career with a global leader in thermal imaging, sensing, and advanced detection technology.
  • A highly visible role in a growth area where security and fire life safety markets are converging.
  • The ability to work with innovative technologies that help protect people, infrastructure, and critical operations.
  • Collaboration with experienced sales, product, engineering, marketing, and support teams.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • A field-based role with direct impact on territory growth, channel development, and customer outcomes.
