We are currently looking for a
Safety Manager who is passionate about creating safe, compliant, and proactive job sites. The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction safety (preferably steel erection), thrives in fast-paced environments, and is confident leading field teams and management through safety planning, audits, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities- Train and support field personnel, foremen, and superintendents in safety practices for structural steel and miscellaneous steel erection projects.
- Travel regularly to active jobsites, fabrication facilities, and regional offices and conduct regular jobsite inspections and audits.
- Assist / review and comment on the site specific safety plans and company-wide programs.
- Review subcontractor safety programs and ensure alignment with Berlin Steel and customer requirements, notify and prepare written report of any violations or unsafe practices to Subcontractors for immediate correction actions.
- Conduct incident investigations, create corrective action plans, and maintain records.
- Guide project managers and supervisors on integrating safety into operational planning.
- Manage accident reports, insurance claims, and support claims review processes.
- Communicate safety updates verbally and visually to enhance field awareness.
- Maintain and submit weekly activity reports to Corporate Safety leadership.

Qualifications- Minimum of 5 years' experience in construction safety, preferably structural/miscellaneous steel.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, construction codes, and field safety practices.
- Proven ability to identify hazards and recommend corrective measures.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with strong leadership presence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record; travel to jobsites in multiple states is required.
Preferred Qualifications- OSHA 500 & 510
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
