Full Job Description
Ameresco currently has a new opportunity for a Regional Safety Manager to support multi-state energy efficiency and renewable energy construction projects. NOTE: This is a remote position that will have a travel obligation up to 75%. This role will be covering the Central US region that will generally cover everything west of the Mississippi to Colorado.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation of site-specific safety plans and activity hazard analysis for assigned projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and adopted standards.
  • Develop and implement long-term strategy and short-term plans for continuous improvement of the safety, health and environmental compliance program across all aspects of the Ameresco's Regional business operation.
  • Ensure personal protective equipment meets applicable OSHA requirements and employees are trained in proper use.
  • Conduct safety audits of assigned project sites ensuring work is being accomplished safely, and occupational health is not compromised.
  • Ensure incidents are reported, investigated, under-go comprehensive root-cause analysis, and corrective actions implemented to minimize the likelihood of repeat occurrence.
  • Review subcontractor safety qualifications and attend pre-construction meetings as required.
  • Work with project supervision and management to create safety solutions to safety concerns.
  • Foster and maintain a positive safety culture for the project personnel.
  • Maintain all safety certifications as required by contracts.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings for Project Staff.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% (as needed) to support safety operations.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety & health engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible EHS experience supporting construction, renewable energy, industrial, manufacturing, utility, or energy related operations.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting utility-scale or commercial solar PV construction projects, BESS, and/or solar O&M activities.


Additional Qualifications:
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical safety, NFPA 70e, lockout/tagout, arc flash hazard mitigation, and energized work practices.
  • Demonstrated experience applying both OSHA Construction (29 CFR 1926) and General Industry (29 CFR 1910) standards is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Procore, and other basic computer skills.
  • Must be organized, proactive and have proven experience in OSHA Compliance.
  • Skillful communicator in both verbal and written communication to influence leaders, project teams, and subcontractors to achieve safety excellence.
  • Excellent writing skills with proper grammar.
  • A great listener who can communicate professionally and in an open and positive approach.
  • Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification is required.
  • Advanced OSHA certifications are preferred (OSHA 510, OSHA 511, etc.)
  • CSP, ASP, SMS, or other recognized professional safety certifications are preferred.
  • Board Certified Safety Professional certifications are preferred (e.ge. CHST, OHST, etc.)
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification is required.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing issued by state of residence.


The anticipated salary range for this role is $111,000 - $161,500 per year (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.

Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
