Location:
St. Louis, MO - Filling industrialThe Regional Quality Manager (RQM) is responsible for the leadership, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Airgas Quality Management System (QMS) across all facilities within the assigned region. This role ensures that regional operations remain compliant with Airgas corporate policies, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements. The RQM serves as the primary liaison between local branches, plants and corporate quality leadership to drive excellence in operational execution and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
QMS Implementation & Governance
Implement Corporate QMS: Lead the rollout and maintenance of the Airgas Corporate Quality Management System at the regional level, ensuring consistency in processes and documentation.
Local/Regional Management Review: Schedule and facilitate periodic management review meetings to evaluate the suitability and effectiveness of the QMS with regional leadership.
Headcount Oversight: Ensure local quality-related headcounts and organizational charts are accurate and up to date to maintain operational readiness.
Complaint Handling: Manages all customer complaints (all grades).
Auditing & Compliance
Audit Management: Lead and support internal and external (third-party) audits. Act as the primary contact point for regulators and registrars.
Audit Participation: Actively participate in regional quality audits to identify gaps, verify compliance, and share best practices across different sites.
Corrective Action (CAPA): Manage the nonconformance process. Monitor the follow-up and closure of Corrective and Preventive Actions to ensure root causes are identified and mitigated.
Compliance: Ensures compliance with all Specialty, Medical and Food Gas Standard Operating Procedures and ISO requirements.
Metrics & Performance Tracking
Quality Metrics Reporting: Compile and report regional quality KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to senior management, highlighting trends and areas requiring intervention.
Customer Feedback: Oversee the administration and analysis of customer surveys. Use feedback data to drive regional service improvements and address recurring pain points.
Training & Development
Regional Training Requirements: Manage and track quality-related training for all regional personnel. Ensure that associates are competent in their roles and compliant with mandatory Airgas safety and quality modules.
Analyzer Training: Lead training for new hires and new analyzers including gas chromatographs, paramagnetic analyzers, moisture analyzers, detector tubes and other gas analyzers.
Ready resource: Supports the field with SOP interpretations for specialty, industrial, medical and food grade gases, production, filling and analytic capabilities and requirements. Troubleshoots equipment issues at all facilities and performs repairs to equipment as knowledge, skills and abilities allow.

________________________Are you a MATCH?Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field
At least 3 years of quality assurance/control leadership experience
Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle with insurance coverage as required by the company
Ability and willingness to travel 40-50% of the time, primarily consisting of regional day trips
Preferred Qualifications:
Chemical or industrial gas industry experience is highly preferred (Assembly line or finished product quality experience is acceptable)
Strong working proficiency with ISO procedures, quality manuals, and customer complaint resolution
Experience delivering technical training or explaining analytical equipment
