What we need

Symbotic is seeking a Regional Manager, Site Installation Management (Northeast / Central Region) to focus on managing technically complex and highly integrated customer-facing projects. This role will lead a field based team using their technical expertise and problem-solving acumen to execute efficiently. This individual will find creative ways to implement installations for various customers looking to innovate their material handling operations. This position will be a highly visible role and interact with all departments and levels across the company including executive management.

Remote, travel-based position requiring approximately 80% travel. The individual in this role will be expected to work on-site across projects within the region. Candidates must be located in the Eastern or Central time zones to support effective collaboration with site and cross-functional teams.

What we do

The Site Installation team is responsible for delivering Symbotic's automation systems on customer sites - turning engineered designs into fully installed, commissioning-ready operations. The organization oversees the full on-site installation lifecycle, including automation equipment, adapter cells, electrical and controls integration, and coordination with structural, racking, and construction partners. Working in close partnership with Project Management, Engineering, Safety, and Commissioning, the Site Installation team ensures that systems are installed safely, at high quality, on schedule, and within budget, setting each site up for a successful startup and long-term performance.

What you'll do

  • Lead installation execution across a regional portfolio of concurrent customer projects, with accountability for safety, quality, schedule, cost, and workforce performance.


  • Lead and develop Site Installation Managers, including performance management, coaching, workforce planning, and deployment across active projects.


  • Oversee site readiness, mobilization, installation sequencing, resource planning, and turnover to Commissioning.


  • Manage execution performance across Symbotic teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and skilled trades.


  • Partner with Project Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Safety, and Commissioning to resolve field issues, manage dependencies, and maintain project milestones.


  • Monitor project schedules, installation productivity, cost performance, and critical risks; drive recovery plans and escalation when execution moves off plan.


  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, customer standards, installation procedures, and site-specific safety requirements.


  • Establish consistent project controls and reporting for installation progress, resource needs, risks, constraints, and key milestones.


  • Drive standardization across installation planning, estimating, execution, and closeout through lessons learned and continuous improvement.


  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and capability development across the Site Installation organization.


What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field required.


  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in industrial automation, material handling systems, construction management, systems integration, or complex equipment installation.


  • Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience, including responsibility for field-based teams, site leaders, contractors, or skilled trades.


  • Experience delivering large-scale industrial automation, robotic, material handling, or AS/RS projects in active construction or customer environments.


  • Strong knowledge of installation planning, construction sequencing, project controls, subcontractor management, schedule management, and site execution.


  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, balance regional resources, identify execution risks, and drive corrective actions.


  • Strong customer and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across Engineering, Project Management, Operations, suppliers, and trade partners.


  • Proven ability to use project metrics and data to evaluate performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.


  • Strong technical judgment with the ability to facilitate decisions around installation requirements, constructability, design interfaces, and execution challenges.


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project preferred.


  • Ability to travel approximately 80% to customer sites throughout the Northeast and Central regions.


Our Environment

  • Employee must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client, other customer locations or our main office in Wilmington, MA.


  • The person taking this position will be required to perform work at our customer installation locations for extended periods of time where equipment is installed and ready for commissioning.


  • Employees may be required to use a personal credit card for business travel expenses, which are reimbursed based on the program guidelines. Eligible employees may receive a corporate credit card based on role and travel requirements, but a personal credit card may be needed during onboarding until the corporate card is issued.


  • The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.


  • The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.


  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.


  • Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.


  • Approximately 75% of time will be spent on a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).


  • There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.


  • You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground.


  • Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $150,000.00 - $206,800.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
