Regional Instructional Coach - Middle School Math

Job Summary
The Instructional Coach role is an integral part of the Academics team, ensuring curriculum implementation, teacher and leader development, and data-driven decision making in supporting improved student achievement. The starting salary range for this role is $94,082-$103,984. This is a full-time, onsite role based at KIPP DC campuses with an anticipated start date of July 2026.

About the Role
In this critical role, you'll be responsible for developing the content knowledge and pedagogical skills for educators at KIPP DC. You'll leverage your content and instructional expertise to build trusting relationships with leaders and teachers to drive academic achievement for all KIPP DC students.

Location and Type of Work
This is an exempt position and will report to the Director of Literacy Coaching, DCAO of STEM, or DCAO of Literacy & Humanities. As a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families, we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. Schools operate in person and our students and families rely on us for in-person support which requires this position to be fully on-site. This role is currently required to be on-site or in schools during regular work hours.

Responsibilities
The percentages for each key responsibility are estimates, and other duties may be assigned. Flexibility and responsiveness are encouraged to accommodate organizational needs.
Teacher Development (60%)
  • Develop teacher content knowledge and pedagogical skills through high-quality professional development and coaching.
  • Facilitate teachers' data analysis to drive instruction and meet the needs of all learners.
  • Provide focused real time coaching to teachers to improve teaching and learning.

Leader Collaboration (25%)
  • Collaborate with school leaders to align teacher development
  • Participate in school walkthroughs to conduct observations, provide feedback, and develop coaching plans.
  • Communicate priorities, progress updates and critical information weekly.

Program Implementation (15%)
  • Maintain expertise in KIPP DC curriculum, standards and assessments.
  • Oversee the implementation of multi-tiered curriculum and interventions
  • Analyze student and teacher data to inform coaching, instruction and continuous improvement.
  • Design and facilitate differentiated and data-informed professional development
  • Collaborate with the instructional coaching team to internalize curriculum, problem solve, and plan for development

Requirements & Preferences

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of two years of coaching experience required
  • Minimum of five years of lead teaching experience in specific content area required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree preferred
  • School leadership experience preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Travel across multiple schools and campuses
  • Coordinate distribution/organization of curricular materials
