GENERAL PURPOSE:
Accountable for strategically enhancing store operations and delivering financial targets and operational goals through thoughtful analysis. Works cross-functionally with other store operations teams across the company to provide financial control and operational direction on store performance and related initiatives. Provides analytics, reporting, guidance, and counsel to Regional Vice-Presidents (RVP), Senior Vice-Presidents and Corporate Leadership on expense management, performance metrics, and operational functions. This role will also be expected to perform a range of other financial analysis, including but not limited to store performance and trend analysis (financially or operationally). In addition, this Regional Finance Manager (RFM) will also be responsible for process improvement across reporting and payroll management. This role can be either remote or in the Corporate office but will require the associate to work East Coast hours (8 am EST start time).
The base salary range for this role is $96,700 - $146,050. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Regional Financial Analysis and Reporting
• Provides primary analytical support for one or more Regions and applies financial skillset towards identifying actionable insights to help field leaders drive more effective execution.
• Assumes full P&L analysis responsibility for the region and provides a monthly recap to the RVP and Director of Regional Finance.
• Responsible for tracking key store performance metrics and identifying their trends and outliers to aid with exception management.
• Oversees financial forecasts and risk analysis for Stores, Districts, and Zones within the overall Region.
• Identifies any risks and opportunities for RVP and quantifies potential impacts.
• Reviews and analyzes regional operating expenses on a recurring basis and prepares management summaries highlighting key issues along with recommendations for resolving them. Assumes budgeting and reporting responsibility for Store Travel, G&A Travel, and other related Field expense areas.
• Consults with RVP, Zone Directors (ZD), and District Managers (DM) to help resolve financial and operational concerns and minimize disruption to the business.
• Provides input and feedback into budgeting and financial planning processes (for example, annual store sales budgets).
• Prepares deep-dives on company operating initiatives on an as-needed basis, including but not limited to, payroll, inventory control, shortage, markdown execution, staffing levels, budget management, and expense control.
• Provides specific analyses around new stores, new markets, opportunity stores, or "special" stores (e.g., downtown stores, remote markets, complex layouts, etc.) to help the field improve and maximize results.
• Works closely with both the Corporate Store Ops group and the field partners to ensure execution, consistency, and compliance of company programs, policies, and initiatives.
• Performs a range of ad-hoc analyses, including in-depth root cause on sales and payroll planning, with emphasis on under-performing stores and markets and presents findings to leadership (SVP, RVP, ZD, DM).
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve how payroll is reported and managed, including enhancements to file structure, data sources, and system usage.
Corporate Financial Analysis and Other Support Functions
• Provides backup support for Corporate-based reporting functions (e.g., daily sales reporting)
• Completes portions of annual store payroll budgeting process, in partnership with Store Finance team
• Partners with other Regional Finance Managers to share and adopt best practices across regions.
• Serves as a Regional "Champion" for the Ross payroll model, including interpretation for field management, explaining store-specific or month-specific questions, and helping ZDs and DMs to manage payroll through best practices and adherence to Ross operational standards.
• Understands (and can explain to field organization) all Ross operating statements and reports.
• Provides vision and insight into development of financial tools to help field partners drive business results
• Can research, roll-up and/or produce regional data requested by Field or Corporate.
• Acts as the Regional expert for financial systems such as DART and PeopleWorks by responding to questions and leading training during new hire Field Management orientation and onboarding. Is also able to monitor and report on any issues, assisting DMs and ZDs with resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related analytical field required.
• 5+ Years retail experience in store management, operations, store support, or field-based analysis preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and time-sensitive reports.
• Excellent proactive communications skills, both written and oral.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel required; knowledge of other analytical software preferred.
• Ability to conduct "root cause" analysis for financial or operational questions.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to quickly identify operational and financial challenges and recommend solutions for the field. Must understand what process changes are feasible, and which are not, when recommending solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of store systems, operations, and procedures.

Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
