Regional Field Manager
Position Overview:
The Regional Field Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, staff performance, and process efficiency within their assigned market. This role involves direct management of market-specific activities, staff accountability, and client satisfaction while fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Top-Priority Operational & Safety Responsibilities
- Conduct regular field travel to hospitals within the region to observe workflow, support Hospital Managers, identify operational needs, and maintain a strong leadership presence.
- Ensure medical workflows are consistently followed and optimized to support scalable, sustainable growth across all hospitals.
- Handle escalated client (and staff) complaints.
- Monitor day-to-day activities and address market-specific issues promptly.
- Work with Hospital Managers (HMs) to ensure machine maintenance is up to date.
- Provide first-response support for issues related to the POS system, EzyVet, client refunds, and post-surgical follow-up.
Staff Leadership, Hiring, & Development
- Serve as the primary connection for HMs, acting as an active role model by demonstrating a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and excellent client service.
- Collaborate with Hospital Managers to onboard, train, and mentor new staff, fostering their professional development.
- Prepare training plans and schedules for new hires.
- Responsible for identifying, evaluating, and supporting Tech Experts and Field Trainers.
Accountability, Performance Management & Auditing
- Development and implementation of a detailed schedule for auditing hospitals and technician performance.
- Conduct quarterly evaluations of staff, holding them accountable for job duties and responsibilities.
- Perform routine employee reviews, prepare correction discussions, and help staff set performance goals.
- Conduct quarterly A-Player assessments for HMs and end-of-year reviews.
- Review, approve, and audit payroll for assigned hospitals to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely submission.
Communication, Culture & Meetings
- Develop agendas and lead regular HM meetings to disseminate information, provide training, and align on goals.
- Act as a liaison between leadership and HMs, promoting core values through weekly shout-outs and fostering a positive team culture.
- Attend weekly leadership team meetings to report on KPIs, address inefficiencies, and propose solutions.
- Participate in quarterly leadership meetings, providing updates on market performance and goals.
- Collaborate with leadership and the Regional Veterinary Practice Manager to assess and address any staffing needs.
Measures of Success:
- Achieving a fully staffed and trained market team with low turnover.
- Consistently meeting KPI targets and maintaining process efficiencies.
- Maintaining high employee satisfaction scores and fostering a strong team culture.
- Delivering excellent client service with minimal complaints and swift resolution of issues.
- Individual doctor revenue performance reliably meets established benchmarks.
- Hospitals operate efficiently, maintaining low overtime while consistently meeting benchmarks for revenue per unit hour and surgeries per hour.
- Maintaining high technician efficiency by ensuring optimal staffing, clear task delegation, and consistent adherence to productivity and workflow benchmarks.
- Consistently contributes to organizational financial success through effective management of hospital operations, cost controls, revenue optimization, and alignment with company profitability targets.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of progressive leadership experience in veterinary operations, includingmulti-site or regional oversightacross high-volume clinical or surgical environments.
- Proven track record in leading and developing Hospital Managers, including coaching performance, ensuring accountability to KPIs, driving culture, and managing escalations across multiple sites.
- Demonstrated success in operational excellence, including implementing standardization, process improvement, change management, and cross-hospital workflow optimization.
- Advanced leadership, communication, and project-management skills, with the ability to influence and motivate diverse teams, manage competing priorities, and execute strategic initiatives across a region.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting, staffing models, and operational KPIsfor multiple hospitals or business units.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and veterinary PIMS systems, with the ability to analyze data, build reports, and translate insights into actionable operational strategies.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, including comfort with high-velocity environments, ambiguity, and rapid scaling.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel regularly to assigned hospitals(if relevant for your structure).
