REGIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER - BC AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS As a leader within the broader environment, climate and sustainability team, reporting to the Director of Environment & Regulatory - Canadian Operations, you will have responsibility for providing technical support, environmental subject matter expertise and leadership to WF's operations in the areas of environmental regulatory compliance, performance improvement and sustainability. The role will lead efforts in the development, implementation and governance of Environmental Management System (EMS) tools and resources for the company as well as provide environmental support to approximately 10 divisions spanning lumber, pulp and wood panel manufacturing operations across BC.
You'll Do:- Environmental Programs Lead, responsible for developing, maintaining and overseeing environmental programs, standards and procedure to support compliance and performance improvement
- Supported by regional environmental advisor, provide strategic and technical guidance and advice to Mill site resources related to:
- Maintaining environmental regulatory compliance
- Adherence to Corporate Environmental Management System Expectations
- Performance Improvement in environment and sustainability goals and targets
- Provide environmental support and regulatory interpretation for forestry operations in BC
- Advise on environmental program gaps and strategic opportunities to enhance environmental performance
- Represent West Fraser on external industry organizations. This will include development WF positions and inputs into various emerging regulatory changes within BC.
- Provide direct leadership, guidance and coaching to environmental resources within BC
You Have:- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Forestry or similar acumen
- 10 or more years of managing environmental programs in the industrial sector
- Experience working with Environmental Management Systems
- Familiarity with Environmental and Regulatory compliance audit frameworks and processes
- Knowledge of forestry or lumber &/or wood panel or similar heavy manufacturing operations is an asset
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships within operational and cross functional teams
- Demonstrated planning, organizing and creative problem-solving ability
- Demonstrated ability to be a strategic thinker, effectively managing multiple priorities and able to establish short, medium and long term plans that support enterprise goals and targets
- Effective team builder with proven leadership skills
- Professional integrity and willingness to learn
- Willingness to travel
Compensation Package:- The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location. The yearly salary range is between $136,000 - $161,000.
