Full Job Description
This position's overall mission is to help ensure environmental compliance, implement best practices, and reduce Kelvion's environmental footprint. This position will support the entire Americas region for Kelvion, including manufacturing plants, service sites, and offsite service jobs.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  • Walk the floor regularly with the intention of understanding operational processes and challenges, compliance status, environmental risk, and improvement needs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations (EPA, state, and local), including air permitting, wastewater discharge permits, stormwater, and hazardous waste.
  • Maintain and submit required environmental reports (e.g., air emissions inventories, TRI, wastewater monitoring reports, etc.).
  • Coordinate permitting as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct internal environmental audits and support regulatory inspections.
  • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and maintenance teams to assess environmental impacts.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce emissions, water usage, chemical consumption, and waste generation.
  • Lead and/or support implementation of pollution prevention and process improvement projects.
  • Manage waste programs, including waste characterization, storage, labeling, disposal, and reporting.
  • Evaluate and approve new chemicals and materials for environmental compliance.
  • Lead and/or support recycling and waste reduction initiatives across the facility.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and calculate air emission sources such as welding fumes, thermal processes, and coating operations.
  • Support wastewater treatment systems and water reuse initiatives related to cleaning and testing operations.
  • Lead projects or assist in energy efficiency and decarbonization initiatives aligned with corporate sustainability goals.
  • Develop and maintain environmental procedures, work instructions, and compliance records.
  • Deliver environmental training to production and maintenance personnel.
  • Support incident investigations related to environmental nonconformances or spills.
  • Track and report environmental performance metrics (e.g. NOVs, spills, waste, water, emissions).
  • Gather and report ESG/sustainability data and customer environmental data requests.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives with an environmental focus.
  • Support the Americas Region HSE team and lead HSE management system initiatives.
  • All other duties assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Working knowledge of air quality regulations, wastewater, hazardous waste, and environmental permitting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production environment.
  • Experience in heat exchanger, pressure vessel, HVAC, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience with sustainability or decarbonization initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in environmental compliance within a manufacturing environment (metal fabrication preferred).
  • Prefer CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) certification.
  • Prefer experience with ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
  • Prefer Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
