Position Summary:
The Regional EHS Manager is responsible for leading all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across multiple Alta Equipment locations within a designated region. This role ensures full compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies while driving a proactive, employee-centered safety culture. The Regional EHS Manager has full oversight of EHS performance and is a key leader in shaping safety behaviors and environmental responsibility across the region.
Key Responsibilities:Strategic Oversight:
- Lead all EHS activities across the assigned region.
- Develop and implement EHS strategies aligned with corporate goals.
- Monitor and report on EHS performance, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Safety Culture Leadership:- Championing a strong, positive safety culture through visible leadership and employee engagement.
- Launch and manage regional safety campaigns, recognition programs, and behavior-based safety initiatives.
- Facilitate safety meetings and employee-led safety teams at each site.
- Promote open communication and reporting of near-misses, hazards, and safety suggestions.
- Conduct regular safety walks and leadership engagement visits to reinforce safe behaviors.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and state/local regulations.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments at all regional sites.
- Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Training & Development:- Deliver and oversee EHS training programs for employees and managers.
- Support onboarding and ongoing education on safety protocols and environmental practices.
- Mentor site-level safety coordinators and supervisors.
- Promotes employee engagement.
Program Implementation:- Standardize and enforce safety procedures across service shops, warehouses, and field operations.
- Oversee hazardous materials handling, waste management, and environmental reporting.
- Lead emergency preparedness and response planning.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Act as the regional EHS leader, partnering with operations, HR, and fleet management.
- Promote a culture of safety through engagement, communication, and recognition.
- Represent the region in corporate EHS meetings and initiatives.
Qualifications:-Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field 5+ years of progressive EHS experience, preferably in equipment, industrial, or service-based environments.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- Proven leadership and multi-site management experience.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel regionally up to 50%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CHMM, or equivalent certification.
- Experience in heavy equipment, fleet safety, or service shop environments.
