Job Description

Position Purpose
Identify, train, and develop Associates across multiple operating company locations in the Northeast. Identify the best in class leadership methodologies and adapt into the organization. Using company and locally developed training programs, work with new hires in classroom and field settings to prepare them to lead with confidence. Implement new sales, operations, or procurement management training programs. Function as a team member within operating companies, functional departments and organization. Responsible for tracking individual and location performance and participation. Serve as an Associate advocate to enhance associate's career experience and quality of work life, as well as boosting overall participation and outcomes of training.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Works with Regional team, OpCo Presidents, functional operating company leadership and Human Resources to address the current and future needs of the region.
  • Coordinates training within many departments to ensure sales, operations, and procurement leaders are fully prepared.
  • Coordinates training and Onboarding processes with Warehouse and Transportation departments to ensure new hires are fully prepared for high performance in their respective positions.
  • Provides input into hiring and termination decisions based on performance during the training period.
  • Perform and maintain written performance reviews of all trainees as prescribed in the PFG Sales Training Manual and the PFG Operations Training Manual, depending on the position.
  • Presents training using PFG New Hire Sales Training program, STAR Performance, and technology training
  • Supplements the PFG Sales Training Manual with local programs specific to the products and reports used in that market.
  • Plans, schedules and facilitates training programs.
  • Serves as an associate advocate during the 30/60/90 days of hire to boost job satisfaction, engagement and productivity.
  • Conducts train-the-trainer workshops to enhance the bench strength for trainers
  • Tracks, measures, identifies and addresses training gaps within the operating companies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards


Required Qualifications

Required Education - High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

Work Experience: 5 - 7 Years:
- Developing and facilitating sales and operations training programs
- Street sales and sales management and/or
- Operations management experience
in foodservice distribution, supply chain industry or restaurant industry

Required Qualifications:
• Within six months of starting, the incumbent must complete the PFG Train-the-Trainer course and be certified by the PFG Broadline Sales Trainer
• Must possess excellent communication and coaching skills

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree - Business management. Operations, sales/marketing or related area

- Proven ability to develop and deliver training - both in person and virtually
- Experience tracking effectiveness of training programs
- Ability to deliver difficult messages
- Strong collaboration skills across departments and different levels within an organization
- Must currently reside in the Northeast - no relocation; ability to travel up to 25%
